But what does this mean?

This means that Lycon is able to remove the most stubborn hairs – as short as 1mm!

The low temperature and gentle wax gives extra client comfort – even with sensitive skin!

Leaving you with no irritations.

No irritations??

Absolutely!!

Does the thought of having a Brazilian or a Hollywood bikini wax make you break out into a cold sweat?

It can be a scary prospect whether you’re a waxing virgin or just making the leap from a standard bikini wax to a more intimate one.

Will it hurt? Will it be embarrassing? What should I wear?

The best tips we can give anyone going for a Lycon wax is…

The week before your appointment–

For 7-10 days leading up to a wax, exfoliate the area using a sugar scrub. If possible try and do this every other day in the week before your treatment. Exfoliating will remove any dead skin and help to ‘lift’ the hairs away from the top layer of skin, allowing them to be more easily picked up by the wax.

If you have been shaving, make sure not to shave for at least a week before your intimate wax and longer if possible. Hair should be 1/4 – 1/2 inches long, but don’t worry if its longer as it can be trimmed by your therapist.

The day of your appointment –

If you are a little nervous that your Brazilian or Hollywood wax will be uncomfortable, then you can take 1-2 paracetamol half an hour before your treatment.

Avoiding caffeine for a few hours before your intimate wax can also help reduce discomfort. Caffeine heightens nerve ending sensitivities and this is what we want to try and avoid.

What to expect at your appointment –

You will be asked to remove your underwear and lie on the treatment couch under the top towel. You might feel a bit embarrassed to start with, but it means the treatment will be more easily and hygienically carried out.

You’ll then be left alone to allow you time to get ready while your therapist steps out to wash their hands.

Once the therapist returns to the room, she will begin by applying an anti-septic cleanser over the whole area.

If you’re having a Brazilian (which leaves a ‘landing strip’ of pubic hair over the pubic bone) this is when you should tell your therapist how thick or thin you like the strip.

A pre wax oil is then applied to the area, to prevent the wax adhering to the skin making the treatment more comfortable.

Hot wax is applied and left to cool down for a few seconds before being removed.

After the hair has been removed, the area will be cleansed again to remove any excess oil, and then aloe vera will be applied to reduce redness and prevent infection.

After care Advice

  • Wear loose cotton clothing
  • Exfoliate the area after 48 hours and every other day for a week afterwards to help prevent ingrown hairs
  • Do not apply perfumed products to the area
  • Do not have a very hot bath or shower
  • Do not use a sun bed or sunbathe

What does Karma’s Lycon Queen have to say about Lycon?

Lycon wax is best used for sensitive areas such as intimate, underarm and face. Using an oil barrier, the wax only pulls against the hair not the skin making it the kindest and gentlest wax on the market. 100000% would recommend to anyone!
